Agra-Lucknow Expressway – All things you need to know!

The Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA) built the Agra–Lucknow Expressway, a 302 km long, 6-lane wide (extendable to 8-lanes) access-controlled expressway to decrease traffic on existing crowded highways, reduce pollution, and reduce carbon footprint. The highway reduced the distance between Agra and Lucknow in Uttar Pradesh, India, and has been in service since February 2017 as the country’s longest expressway.

Former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav opened it on November 21, 2016.

Located between Etmadpur Madra village in Agra and Sarosa Bharosa village near Mohan Road in Lucknow, the Agra-Lucknow Highway is a super expressway covering 10 districts, 236 villages, and 3,500 hectares of land. Mainpuri and Etawah, Auraiya, and Kannauj are among the cities it passes through on its way to Kanpur Nagar and Hardoi in western Uttar Pradesh.

Is the Agra-Lucknow Expressway Safe?

Despite the fact that the Agra Lucknow Expressway was opened to the public in December 2016, it is far from completion. Commuters on the Agra Lucknow Expressway have encountered a number of safety concerns. The first few kilometres of the expressway is open exclusively on one side due to unfinished construction. When driving on the wrong side of the road, you’ll need to be extra cautious. Because there aren’t any services for a long distance, make sure your vehicle has enough of gas and fuel. Every few kilometres, there are UP police patrol units that may be noticed. You should avoid driving on the highway at night since there are less people around.
